Welcome to the 4 days Gorilla trekking Rwanda Safari, an exceptional short-time safari adventure in the Land of a Thousand Hills. Located on the Eastern side of the African continent, Rwanda is a prime safari destination. The 4 days Gorilla trekking Rwanda Safari will take you to the country’s two major national parks. These are; Akagera national park and Volcanoes national park.

Akagera National Park is famous for being home to the big five animals namely; lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and buffalo. Experience a boat cruise safari at Lake Ihema and a game drive in the park. Enjoy an exceptional gorilla trekking adventure at Volcanoes National Park. You will dive into the life of these human-like creatures. All this is accompanied by immersing yourself in the lifestyle and the people of Rwanda. You will also visit the Ibyi’wacu Cultural Village and learn about the different beliefs and customs of Africans. This safari involves stopovers in the city of Kigali and other areas.

Day 1: Arrival, transfer to Akagera National Park, and afternoon boat cruise at Lake Ihema

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be picked up by our professional driver guide. He or she will brief you about your 4 days Gorilla trekking Rwanda Safari. You will then embark on the drive to Akagera National Park.

Drive the savannah plains as well as enjoy scenic views of the lush vegetation of Rwanda. Upon arrival, check in to your earlier booked lodge for a delicious lunch.

In the afternoon, you will head to Lake Ihema for a boat cruise. This is a chance for you to dive into the aquatic life of Rwanda. You will enjoy views of several species such as crocodiles and hippos. The Lake is also home to multiple bird species majority of which are Rift Valley endemics.

Later on, return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

4 Days Rwanda gorilla trekking SafariAfter a delicious morning breakfast, embark on a safari vehicle for a game-viewing experience in Akagera National Park. This game drive is one of the major highlights for your 4 days gorilla trekking Rwanda Safari. It will introduce you to the big five animals; lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros. The game drive comes with views of other wildlife species such as giraffes, zebras, gazelles, and antelopes, to mention but a few.

Return to your lodge for an early lunch, check out of the lodge, and embark on the drive to Volcanoes National Park.

The drive will take you through the rolling hills of Rwanda as well as lush green vegetation that your eyes can’t get tired of. Check in to your earlier booked lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight upon arrival.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking and Ibyi’wacu Cultural Village tour

After an early morning breakfast, you will go for a gorilla trekking safari. This is the long-awaited day on your 4 days Gorilla trekking Rwanda Safari. After breakfast, you will go for a briefing at the park headquarters.

After the briefing, you will enter the forests of Volcanoes National Park which is part of the Virunga Massif for gorilla trekking. The activity takes 2 to 6 hours inclusive of a full hour spent in the presence of the gorillas upon encountering them. You will enjoy views of several forest dwellers such as golden monkeys. You will also learn about gorilla conservation efforts in Rwanda.

Return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation.

After lunch, you will spend time in the Ibyi’wacu Cultural Village. Here you will take part in the culture of Rwanda. Enjoy traditional tales, dance, food, and the alluring culture of the people. You may as well buy craft or other hand-made products as a way of giving back to the community.

In the later hours of the day, return to your lodge for dinner and spend the night over.

Day 4: Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre and Departure

After a Morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive back to Kigali city. You will enjoy the lush green vegetation and distant scenic views of the surroundings that turn moments into memories.

You will stop at the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre for an exceptional insight into the history of Rwanda. You will see the name and the remains of thousands of people who succumbed to the 1994 bloody Genocide.

Have lunch at any hotel within Kigali city before heading to the airport for your outbound flight. This marks the end of your 4 days Gorilla trekking Rwanda Safari.
